Singing, dancing and stories have lots of opportunities for children’s mathematics learning. There are many songs that include mathematics ideas, including numbers, seasons, location and shape. Children can clap and move to the beat of the music, and explore repeating patterns in dance and songs. When you read stories, notice and talk about the mathematics – the sequence of events, and the descriptions of characters and settings.
